BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Nebraska, one day she hopped on a bus with 21 suitcases and boxes, $200, her best friend in tow and off they went to "Big D" yes, Dallas Texas! Her first professional career was in retailing. Wanting to be a fashion commentator, and those jobs being few and far between, she ended up as a buyer traveling the world. These travels gave her opportunities to perform and to meet other musicians and songwriters around the world.
"Music has always been a part of my life. When growing up, I was always involved in choirs and other vocal groups. My Mom was an accomplished pianist and my Dad was a singer with a beautiful tenor voice."
A few years ago, she threw herself a birthday party. Always having the desire to be a professional singer, she decided it was now or never. She performed, as she had always wanted to, live, as the main vocalist with a full 6-piece band.
"I had the good fortune of meeting Julie Bonk who led the band for me that evening, a great pianist and musician." Julie Bonk was Norah Jones? jazz piano teacher in Dallas. As the story goes, the party was a success and a new singer and performer emerged!
Home based in Dallas Texas, Carolyn pas performed from Paris to NYC in various New York City Cabarets, other public venues, Jazz festivals and private parties.
BON APPETIT! her recently released CD was recorded in New York City. It features her NYC friends and accomplished musicians; Pianist Wells Hanley, Bassist Saadi Zain and Percussionist and Drummer Jacob Melchior. A very special guest, Bob Dorough makes an appearance playing piano and singing on a lively duet and new arrangement of his song Devil May Care.
